North East Data Centre Hub Builds Momentum with Fourth Event at Freight Island

Momentum continues to build for the North East Data Centre Hub as the forum announces its fourth event, set to take place at Freight Island in Newcastle on Thursday 10th September 2026.

Following the success of the NEDCH’s previous three events, each attracting over 150 attendees, there is a clear and growing demand for the initiative, which brings together professionals from across the data centre industry in the North East.

The North East Data Centre Hub is a collaborative not-for-profit forum founded by RED Engineering Design, Cleveland Cable Company, CMP Products, Durata, Daikin Applied (UK) Ltd and RWO. The Hub exists to champion regional capability, strengthen the local supply chain and position the North East as a key player in the UK’s data centre ecosystem by connecting businesses, stakeholders and experts involved in the development and delivery of data centre infrastructure.

The Hub will welcome guests to Freight Island, one of Newcastle’s newest venues. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a vibrant and contemporary setting with a flexible event space and modern facilities, creating an ideal environment for collaboration and networking.

A key highlight of the event will be updates from leading organisations across the data centre supply chain, offering valuable insight into major developments, emerging opportunities and the future of digital infrastructure in the North East.
