Meet Liam Southall, CMP’s New Business Development Manager

Last month, CMP welcomed Liam Southall as Business Development Manager for Northern and Central England. Liam joins at an exciting time, playing a key role in CMP’s UK/Europe sales team restructure, designed to strengthen regional leadership.

Bringing Industry Experience to CMP

Liam brings over a decade worth of sales and leadership experience within the cable distribution sector. This includes climbing the ladder over an eight-year tenure with Cleveland Cable Company, a long-term partner of CMP. Having regularly worked with CMP’s cable management solutions, he has built a strong understanding of the market alongside a well-established network of industry contacts.

Speaking about joining CMP, Liam said: “I’ve worked with the company’s range of solutions for years and have seen first-hand the exceptional quality and trusted reputation its products and services are known for. The opportunity to join a market-leader and work alongside a team I already knew and respected made it an easy decision.”

Settling into the Role

In his first few months, Liam is focused on applying his existing knowledge whilst building connections with the team and customer base. He is also developing a more detailed, hands-on understanding of CMP’s product portfolio.

Opportunities Across the Region

While it’s still early days, Liam is beginning to explore opportunities across Northern and Central England, with a focus on strengthening existing relationships and exploring new partnerships.

“I have been greatly impressed by CMP’s customer base and the scale of the projects they are currently working on. I’m looking forward to getting to work closely with our current customer base and really understand their needs, to deliver solutions that meet, if not exceed, those.”

First Impressions of CMP

One thing that has stood out to Liam is the welcoming and supportive culture at CMP.

“Everyone’s been really welcoming. During my induction week in Cramlington, people were more than happy to give their time and help me settle in. There’s a sense that everyone wants you to succeed.”

Outside of CMP

When he’s not at work, Liam keeps active playing semi-professional football at weekends and preparing for the Great North Run this year – something he finds really helps him stay focused at work. He is also a keen golfer which gives him another way to switch off and unwind.

We are delighted to have Liam onboard at CMP and look forward to seeing him grow in his role and make a strong impact across Northern and Central England.
