CMP Gets Hands-On for Anxious Minds’ Woodland Clearance and Canoe Maintenance

This month, a team of CMP employees volunteered their time to support local mental health charity Anxious Minds by joining a woodland clearance or canoe maintenance project. These valuable efforts aimed at transforming a woodland space and repairing canoes, helping to create a welcoming environment for outdoor mental health activities.

Anxious Minds is working to develop outdoor spaces that can be used for therapy, group walks, and mental health support sessions.

The woodland site had become overgrown and difficult to access, requiring some work to get it back into shape. Meanwhile, the canoes which are intended to encourage mental health enrichment within the community, had become warn and required repairs and restoration.

The CMP team took on a variety of tasks, including clearing, installing fencing, repairing broken seats and varnishing.

While both days were physically active, the team embraced the challenge and found the experience both rewarding and enjoyable.

This initiative forms part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and employee wellbeing. As Anxious Minds is CMP’s chosen charity, the project also strengthens our support for their vital work. It gave colleagues a meaningful opportunity to contribute their time, make a difference locally, and connect with each other while giving back to an important cause.
