Types of Cable Glands for Explosive Atmospheres

In general, cable glands selected for use in explosive atmospheres should first meet the requirements of any relevant standard for industrial installations e.g. IEC 62444 – and then comply with the requirements of IEC 60079-0.

Beyond this, three main forms of protection for cable glands exist for explosive atmosphere application under the specified parts of the IEC 60079 Standards, covering armoured and non-armoured cable.
